Delta In2ition Shower Heads

Do you dread stepping into the shower on Monday morning? It’s tough being an adult.

My wife has hated our shower head for quite some time. The pitiful water pressure and lack of portability drive her crazy. While on my routine trip to Lowe’s I decided to pick out the best shower head, one that would make the Mrs.  give me a kiss (which is the ultimate way of saying thank you).

Enter the Delta In2ition dual shower head. This thing ROCKS!!

It has a stationary shower head and a separate handheld sprayer. These features are super convenient if you want to spray your shower area down for cleaning purposes or need to wash your dog.

Plus, you won’t spend a ton of money. The In2ition Delta shower head cost me roughly $49.

Here are the supplies you’ll need

  • Delta In2ition shower head
  • Channel locks
  • Wire brush (somewhat optional)
  • Teflon tape
  • Old rag

Delta shower heads are super easy to install. You may not even need the channel locks (if you can open a pickle jar you’re probably good to go).

At the end of this post I guarantee you’ll have a more refreshing shower experience.

And as usual there’s a quick video to help you with the installation :)

Installing the Delta In2ition Shower Head

You’ll first need to remove your old shower head. Grab an old rag and channel locks.

Place the rag over the shower head base and turn it counterclockwise with the channel locks. Most likely you’ll just have to loosen it a bit and then you’ll be able to use your hand to take it off.

Chances are there will be old disgusting looking teflon tape on your shower arm’s threads. Try to remove the teflon tape by hand. It’s usually wrapped on the threads in a clockwise fashion. So it makes sense to undo it in a counterclockwise motion.

If this doesn’t work you can use a wire brush to remove any excess tape. I highly recommend doing this because any loose strands could clog your new Delta shower head (and that would suck!).

Add 3-4 rotations of new teflon tape around the shower arm but leave the last 2 threads bare. Doing this ensures the  teflon tape won’t go into the Delta shower head’s ball connector and restrict its water pressure.

You’ll be able to hand tighten the ball connector of the delta shower head to the shower arm. But, in case you haven’t been eating your spinach you can always use the channel locks with the rag to give it an extra turn.

Here’s a short video I made just for you. You’ll discover how easy it is to install this kind of Delta shower head.

Attaching the Delta In2ition Hand Shower to the Shower Head

The In2ition Delta shower head comes with a flexible hose. Make sure that at each end of the hose there is a rubber washer within the hose nuts.

These washers make a water tight seal between the hose and the hand shower & shower head.

You need to connect one end of the hose to the shower head and the other end to the hand shower. All connections can be hand tightened, which is way cool and convenient.

Have you ever gone to the zoo and seen a baby kangaroo jump into its mom’s pouch?

It’s pretty cool (a bit weird, but cool nonetheless).

The Delta In2ition is the kangaroo of shower heads.

The hand sprayer is secured to the shower head by gently sliding it into the shower head base and pushing down.

If for some reason the shower head moves simply tighten its ball connector with the rag and channel locks.

Now you have 2 Delta shower heads in 1!!!

Can anyone give me an Amen?

The In2ition could be the best shower head concept out there for anyone on a budget because it has 3 different modes, which means water will come from the

  • Shower head only
  • Shower head AND hand shower
  • or hand shower only

If you’re a water conservationist use either the shower head or hand shower mode.

If you’re half asleep when you wake up on Monday morning (or pretty much every weekday) use the shower head and hand shower mode.

Have to clean your shower on Sunday after noon? Use just the hand shower.

Is you dog or child a stinking mess? Again, use the hand shower to spruce them up (also great for husbands with back hair).

Trust me, this shower head is fantastic. When I installed it on a Sunday then used in Monday morning it was like a shower raining down from the heavens above.

Or this could mean my prior shower head sucked big time.

In either case you’ll be pleased with the Delta In2ition shower head. Here’s the link to the Delta website if you’d like to see all the different models http://www.deltafaucet.com/smart-solutions/in2ition.html

This was an affordable upgrade to our bathroom and the best part is the whole family can enjoy it.

Are you frustrated with your current bathroom? If you could wave a magic wand what would you want? Yes, I’m interested and please add your idea to the comment section because I’m on the lookout for some great concepts.

On the flip side, do you already have your dream bath and feel ecstatic with the end result? Send me pictures, pretty please!!! It’s okay to be proud of your space and show it off. Plus, if I get enough photos I’ll make a dedicated post on this topic.

Send the pictures to jeff@homerepairtutor.com and let me know two things you couldn’t live without in your new bathroom.

Make it a great day!

P.S. Here’s Delta’s video for the In2ition shower head. It’s, shall we say, a bit more seductive than mine. Plus it gives you a good overview of what you’ll be buying. Let me know if I should make another video to compete with this one (LOL).
